OK, so this thread is just to emphasise the absurdity of JW tenets.

Whilst searching for ideas of what to make with clover flowers I came across this quote:
Information, folklore, recipes, and resources -- all about the delicious, nutritious clover plant .
Clover is one of the most famous of weeds, commonly sharing space with grass in lawns.
Clover is viewed by many as having folkloric and religious symbolism, but it can also be viewed as a food!On the same lines as a recent topic about toasting, I wonder if Jehovahs Witnesses should really allow clover to grow in their lawns?
By the way, if anyone does have some ideas for recipees including clover, I would like to hear them.
I wish you all a very agreeable weekend. JLP

How successful we're quickly builds in your area
by joe134cd ini remember hearing about quickly builds how this was a sign of jehovah's spirit that the kh could be built in 3 days.
but what i am wondering is just how successful we're these builds.
i can think of a couple of halls that were built by the quickly built methods that i would suspect they would of lost money on.

Our QB was controlled by a small group of "tradesmen" elders.
The rest of us willing volunteers were clearly looked down upon. I was on several occasions badly spoken to, the goal, to raise laughter among others around. I heard language that I would rather have expected on a " worldly" building site.
The last time I went, I ended up having just one desire: to smash the shovel I was using, firmly and squarely in the face of another " brother".
I didnt do it. I took my things , went home, and never went to help again.
I felt at the time that they had robbed me of enjoying a " wonderful" experience.

What is the purpose of life?
by jean-luc picard inan aussie friend of mine once summed life up in this phrase:.
we are all food for worms.. .
so, now outside the wt mindset, what is your view on life purpose?.

I guess its only polite to share my view, and it has taken a while to get to it:
I think, in essence, that my friend is right. In the meantime, we should play our roll in advancing the evolution of humanity,
be it socially or intellectually. We owe a special debt to our children, who, after all, didnt ask to be born.
We owe it to them to pass on our experiencein life and our help when things are difficult for them.
In brief, to be there for others.

Does anyone know what happened to the Northgate Congregation in Chester, UK?
by TimothyT inhi guys.. im moving to chester in 4 days and its out of the jurisdiction of my congregation so... woop woop!
the jws are going to be invited in often.. however, the territory im moving to should have been the northgate congregation however my cousin told me it was disbanded a while ago.
apparntly it has been split up and meshed with blacon.

I live in another country but all the jws in the area know who I am. The "family still in" tell the congregation secretary. He tells the bethel. bethel contacts the bethel in the new country. That bethel contacts the new congregation. and........ the new congregation sends an elder to see you, normally around the memorial time.
So, one came to our door. Unfortunately for him, Mrs P, I swear she has some Klingon blood in her, answered.
" Some of your husbands friends from his old country asked us to pass by" he said.
He never did get alot further, good old Mrs P LOL.
So the moral is: they will know where you are, and it will be noted on the new territory file.
Then of course, if your family don't know where you're moving to, well what can I say.... " enjoy yourself"

What piece of WT literature is worth holding onto, or have you kept? Why?
by losingit ini have basically thrown away all of my bound volumes and loose wt and awake magazines.
i kept some bpoks, the insight to the scriptures, god's love, the reasoning book, and daniel's prophecies (this was my favorite) .
i held onto insight to the scriptures after reading some of ray franz's book, crisis of conscience.

Exam time again
by jean-luc picard inmy stepson has just finished his national exams in his mother tongue.. talking about how it went, i suddenely had a flashback.. did you, like me, used to right about the "new system" paradise, or other jw stuff, given any opportunity, ( usually in english essays ) ?.
............... and did you count the time?.
-
jean-luc picard
I had not anticipated the different examination systems that exist.
America basically tests at the state level
I suppose that in America, a state is the equivalent of a country in Europe. In Europe, the exams differ widely between members of the EU.
An equivalent in England would be the 'A' levels ( if indeed they are still called that way).
At any rate, the point I wish to make has nothing to do with the exams themselves, but rather if we were " encouraged" to "witness" at any given
oportunity at school, and that even during written exams if the chance arose.
